I know I've been very MIA lately, but this wedding planning and future move in less than a month has me super busy!<br />
<br />
I am going to be planning and DOING the wedding myself, so I am going to chronicle it in a blog , <a href="http://becomingm-mrsjones.blogspot.com/">Becoming Mrs. Jones</a>.<br />
<br />
Thank you for understanding, see ya soon! :)<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgShajC6qIY5XgOTMmCIp4i9d0f3RPC4TbqwieXg4Qnv0UbLommp06Po4VazcCOIZsyPPhEd379kvjsWu0Ha6wpuV96nV66Lh4e9Qt4ohneqMG6g6xMmpnX2nCWJ1mqGH_xc-BHyuVB8zMv/s1600/TheRing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgShajC6qIY5XgOTMmCIp4i9d0f3RPC4TbqwieXg4Qnv0UbLommp06Po4VazcCOIZsyPPhEd379kvjsWu0Ha6wpuV96nV66Lh4e9Qt4ohneqMG6g6xMmpnX2nCWJ1mqGH_xc-BHyuVB8zMv/s320/TheRing.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>There's the ring! :D<br />
<br />
And of course you want to know the story of how it happened: <br />
<br />
While on vacation at Ocean City, MD, Matt and I planned to get up early on Saturday morning and watch the sun rise over the ocean. When we got to the beach, we found a lifeguard chair on 29th Street to sit on and watch the sunrise.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;">Matt popped the question just as the sun went behind a patch of clouds.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br />
</div>Seconds after that, the sun rose higher than the clouds it was behind, shining <i>much</i> brighter than it had been before. We took that as a good omen!<br />
<h6 class="uiStreamMessage" data-ft="{"type":1}" style="font-family: inherit; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span class="messageBody" data-ft="{"type":3}">We have been engaged for a little over 48 hours and I could not be happier. I am so excited to spend forever with my other (and better) half! All of our friends and family are so happy and excited for us, and it could not be a better feeling. Riley is also equally excited and can't wait to "get married with Mommy and Matt." He has requested a ring as well. LOL! </span></span></h6><h6 class="uiStreamMessage" data-ft="{"type":1}" style="font-family: inherit; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span class="messageBody" data-ft="{"type":3}"><span style="font-size: large;">We have decided on Saturday, June 2, 2012 as our wedding day.<br />
<br />
<br />
Well, I guess I better go start planning my wedding... :p</span></span></span></h6><span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />

Komen 3 Day for the Cure!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-ZroyD4RuepFDWuU8YDvNAA8ONUHTqgwL1sE3oR1zlUzmER54-YUfHLBq78Una7ikdwjTmCAxs4OB3eLh7fZdm121yClumnSa2Qh5c9B2OmQWseBQpC2Wvflb-R3GNMnRBX0r_YXUW-K/s1600/StrawberryFest.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-ZroyD4RuepFDWuU8YDvNAA8ONUHTqgwL1sE3oR1zlUzmER54-YUfHLBq78Una7ikdwjTmCAxs4OB3eLh7fZdm121yClumnSa2Qh5c9B2OmQWseBQpC2Wvflb-R3GNMnRBX0r_YXUW-K/s320/StrawberryFest.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
We had a blast meeting new people, raising money, and enjoying all that the annual Strawberry Festival has to offer. Alison ended up making $130 in donations!<br />
<br />
Also, congratulations to Amber Choudry for winning the ButterNugget Creations Pink Ribbon picture frame raffle!<br />

<br />
When you first walk in to the house you are in the kitchen. That's where we had all the food and drinks set up. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqZjEiJ1hrKRhsE58twyVozrIhuuZm55pxustHICbiFcXdqokrpBO4Q7GBnx3ICFL07RE6HMxavN0xfwqxs-MtbHIha20nDSMNg0vGZiEkUlv4Osk3w6hN8L-wwqQ8jzzpiJ775rTcOSJA/s1600/SAM_2068.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqZjEiJ1hrKRhsE58twyVozrIhuuZm55pxustHICbiFcXdqokrpBO4Q7GBnx3ICFL07RE6HMxavN0xfwqxs-MtbHIha20nDSMNg0vGZiEkUlv4Osk3w6hN8L-wwqQ8jzzpiJ775rTcOSJA/s320/SAM_2068.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Then you walk into the dining area. I had my 2 Tier Trays on the table as well as all the hair bows and clips.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRX4tsArHh6xVWUftg9mrYBJd-Bk9oKeCETkRKdNryxy67m2cbuk6RhB-s-OS9w8YNnTg6rM6icWCx9pPFMcWr-KjRv3jp9-6-6F2ZOWGhii9Ob3HwUxiPowx1KxnkgPQssi6jPwh6j3LA/s1600/SAM_2063.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRX4tsArHh6xVWUftg9mrYBJd-Bk9oKeCETkRKdNryxy67m2cbuk6RhB-s-OS9w8YNnTg6rM6icWCx9pPFMcWr-KjRv3jp9-6-6F2ZOWGhii9Ob3HwUxiPowx1KxnkgPQssi6jPwh6j3LA/s320/SAM_2063.JPG" width="205" /></a></div>Next to the kitchen table, I had a smaller table set up with the Guest Book, Portfolio, Business Cards, and the Crinkly Critters. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXrilR3KdacYo7Ts2hfK3I5dz12W1Y-rypadk_7H15XYEmJ0mPR4lu-4LGSYJ58qhf-mdqd7SZjtZ5PizKN3aCJsaXiCzZHjI0s0KBGp9hlL36weoqAa6Mn7JhA_kvcgbI5HlBmLMWWW1M/s1600/SAM_2064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXrilR3KdacYo7Ts2hfK3I5dz12W1Y-rypadk_7H15XYEmJ0mPR4lu-4LGSYJ58qhf-mdqd7SZjtZ5PizKN3aCJsaXiCzZHjI0s0KBGp9hlL36weoqAa6Mn7JhA_kvcgbI5HlBmLMWWW1M/s320/SAM_2064.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>And next to the smaller table I had my Picture Frames set up on a large table-top cabinet. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR13lQx_Xi9OFi2psNztZLp_LUzsUWlWBbtvdtLzDNjky83EJANknUpY1MBsU6jpg88CDH5rGoI27hEdfwD3Krj-pRzyRQI_Ep-Pi5-8eRnxJcLr06PyPyUy0V9VwZDLcmiUaMpAILcNBf/s1600/SAM_2065.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR13lQx_Xi9OFi2psNztZLp_LUzsUWlWBbtvdtLzDNjky83EJANknUpY1MBsU6jpg88CDH5rGoI27hEdfwD3Krj-pRzyRQI_Ep-Pi5-8eRnxJcLr06PyPyUy0V9VwZDLcmiUaMpAILcNBf/s320/SAM_2065.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>And next to the sofa I had the Coasters set up. <br />
<br />

<br />
I loved the way everything flowed in Lori's house. You walk in and make a big circle through the open kitchen/dining area/living room to see everything. Then you can grab some food and drinks and sit on the couch and mingle.<br />
<br />
Thank you again, Lori for everything you did to host the Open House and make it a success! I can't wait to start planning the Holiday Happy Hour with you. :)<br />
<br />
And now on to the next one... ;)<br />
<br />
"On Saturday, June 11th from 11am-7pm, ButterNugget Creations along with Alison Moore, who is walking the 2011 Philadelphia 3-Day for the Cure, will have a booth at the Strawberry Festival right near the entrance to the Cape Main Beach. We will have the ButterNugget Creations Spring Line as well as a donation area where you can make a donation to the Susan G. Koman 3-Day for the Cure, and maybe even some freebees!"<br />
<br />
I hope those of you who live in the area can make it! The Strawberry Festival is a local legend to say the least. It is a great time with great entertainment, food, vendors and crafters. Come for the whole day, or just for an hour; just make sure you stop by our booth before you leave! ;)<br />

Endless days at the pool.<br />
Beach trips.<br />
Relaxation.<br />
:D<br />
<br />
Here's what we've gotten in to so far:<br />
The pool Matt belongs to (and basically grew up at!) is on property that sits on the Severn River. They are considered a "boat club," but it's not what you think at all. Some people have boats, some don't. We're all just there to have a good time! :) There are some canoes there that you can use, and we have gotten in the habit of taking them out as a family.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQpPqsiVHWodgwRS2waTpjHntK9Uuxzsiq0t6jixJSSWaPOMU9m7BJ31J2AfEKZXhBTDcMlPq32N5MLoyTfplPHoV3j5KvOtTPbo3QBECHz9EywDIaAHVdhVOBKLuLQnpL75wOwmE3h0sp/s1600/We%2527reonaBoat.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQpPqsiVHWodgwRS2waTpjHntK9Uuxzsiq0t6jixJSSWaPOMU9m7BJ31J2AfEKZXhBTDcMlPq32N5MLoyTfplPHoV3j5KvOtTPbo3QBECHz9EywDIaAHVdhVOBKLuLQnpL75wOwmE3h0sp/s320/We%2527reonaBoat.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">We went on our first-ever Family Canoe Ride on the Severn River and into the Severn Run. We saw an Eagle, two Osprey dive into the water and catch fish, some different bugs, and lots of other stuff! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn1T4x1VxJfjfe-QhtZoDDqwLEW_6r7xaMcGW24nPi4uwoEm6b9NjQFCUimOZGtdDzrixuBnyJa1Nvi2mqLuAvhsMeZMpn2f8f48gwpm_3vvP_U1vHmsPUCuU5b69u91Y-6foOoMUGtXIm/s1600/BookStore.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn1T4x1VxJfjfe-QhtZoDDqwLEW_6r7xaMcGW24nPi4uwoEm6b9NjQFCUimOZGtdDzrixuBnyJa1Nvi2mqLuAvhsMeZMpn2f8f48gwpm_3vvP_U1vHmsPUCuU5b69u91Y-6foOoMUGtXIm/s320/BookStore.JPG" width="221" /></a></div>Riley and Matt went to the book store while I got my hair cut one morning. They had a blast reading all the books and terrorizing all the unsuspecting bookstore patrons. ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwQDF2zo3CTYGAXzNMvBGeILzHRJga_STolpsGLhXrqS2cVOxs5S11XHvwRsITqgiqzFAcAF5VuHKeMrxcTlLaD31VMu9osDH_NuZUVEJE1kREtb6ATWJeAs2pD7mRwtMWjXhMhuIlZ9Vv/s1600/Perfect.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwQDF2zo3CTYGAXzNMvBGeILzHRJga_STolpsGLhXrqS2cVOxs5S11XHvwRsITqgiqzFAcAF5VuHKeMrxcTlLaD31VMu9osDH_NuZUVEJE1kREtb6ATWJeAs2pD7mRwtMWjXhMhuIlZ9Vv/s320/Perfect.JPG" width="307" /></a></div>We had another Family Canoe Ride one evening. <br />
On the most recent canoe trip we found 3 arrow heads, and a couple pieces of Native American pottery. And when I say "we" I mean "Matt," he just finds this stuff all the time!<br />

First there was Easter.<br />
Then there was Mother's Day.<br />
That means we have about 4 houses to celebrate at for each holiday and that takes up a whole weekend.<br />
So between all the holidays, playdates, date nights (if I ever want to see my boyfriend), and Matt busting his butt keeping the grass mowed and the basement work moving, we have had <b>no</b> time to relax!<br />
Oh, and then Riley had some "mystery" illness that morphed into an ear infection and because he has tubes it is leaking. Everywhere.<br />
I have not slept in exactly a week. Seven days.<br />
Do I sound bitter? lol!<br />
<br />
On a happier note, I have things to share!<br />
<br />
First, a ButterNugget Fam Update:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr7-Rq0lYgJlg8BKAzTKaVOAHGbdB1qKOBzAFJ8oUcx9EBdVIlF7wMqlR2ervzbSNlIMaC9yC0l7mnfNEey40eYoMC2F7jh33xcFsn4Mtuc7wNcDfwyN0tIuS5HbKGbI-4DU5FErpJYvoI/s1600/101_1600.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr7-Rq0lYgJlg8BKAzTKaVOAHGbdB1qKOBzAFJ8oUcx9EBdVIlF7wMqlR2ervzbSNlIMaC9yC0l7mnfNEey40eYoMC2F7jh33xcFsn4Mtuc7wNcDfwyN0tIuS5HbKGbI-4DU5FErpJYvoI/s320/101_1600.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>Riley picked out a new outfit all by himself at the mall the day before Mother's Day. (Don't you just love his little Rainbows? He will only wear his "Flippers" or go barefoot. I now know for sure he is my child.) ;)<br />

It was so fun! I remember going as a kid, but it's way different going as an adult. You notice things you didn't as a child. Like how creepy the people are, and how the animals could be treated better. Poor animals. :( Especially the Elephants!<br />
<br />
Moving on (I could rant about that all day), we had the Open House yesterday at Lori's house (Matt's sister)! It was a huge success. Lori was an excellent hostess, the turnout was amazing, and it was just an all around fun time. I love the laid-back atmosphere of a house party rather than the chaotic feel of a craft show. There may be more ButterNugget Open Houses/House Parties to come! Lori and I have a Holiday House Party in the works already. ;)<br />
<br />
Pictures of the Open House to come shortly!<br />
<br />
Thank you for stopping by!<br />

(Finally...)We started off our Easter weekend with a Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning at the pool we belong to. Matt's family has actually belonged for generations, and his great (possibly great-great?) grandparents were involved in creating it! It's great to have roots. :)<br />

<br />
After the Easter Egg Hunt at the pool, we headed over to my mom's for a cookout, another Easter Egg Hunt, and more Easter celebrations.<br />

We had a busy, but super fun, Easter filled with great people and wonderful memories! I am so thankful to be able to spend Easter with all of our family and friends.<br />

I hope everyone else's Easter was just as special! :)<br />

I used 3 of them to make some cute little ornaments, but didn't know what to do with the rest of the bag. I have been seeing cute letter blocks everywhere that spell out different things, and I thought, "Hey! I can use these!" So, here's my take on it! :)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBI44PLAOlYs3dtdTEoDcemvIXawCfI7UyMbmFXTq8Vi8q7I4TqnU9McQdEtILrDeW5uitK-r7wPOQ2o5Q5we2GlKTrrwBJU6Dio_MoxZiEbgZCbzsjjk8Z9e7hvUuV-Rk85IJDTdC_t3J/s1600/Blocks8.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBI44PLAOlYs3dtdTEoDcemvIXawCfI7UyMbmFXTq8Vi8q7I4TqnU9McQdEtILrDeW5uitK-r7wPOQ2o5Q5we2GlKTrrwBJU6Dio_MoxZiEbgZCbzsjjk8Z9e7hvUuV-Rk85IJDTdC_t3J/s320/Blocks8.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br />
To make these you will need:<br />
<ul><li>Letter blocks that spell out a word (my word is "Spring")</li>
<li>Acrylic craft paint (I used pink)</li>
<li>2 foam brushes</li>
<li>Wax paper</li>
<li>Mod Podge</li>
<li>Scrapbook paper (I used 6 different designs)</li>
<li>Nail file, or sand paper</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjItLas3xfmmViLxUid1g2YPDSp3WkDEgjHz-JIKCUndcuxRiUKpqUKV9T2IkgYXd1ruEJiWuQQzGEiQPh9S9-hX02m3soGA5IvOtNGP24r5RotgGOedCJsuQ8uXK40AELxWCxGen3rx_W2/s1600/Blocks1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="237" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjItLas3xfmmViLxUid1g2YPDSp3WkDEgjHz-JIKCUndcuxRiUKpqUKV9T2IkgYXd1ruEJiWuQQzGEiQPh9S9-hX02m3soGA5IvOtNGP24r5RotgGOedCJsuQ8uXK40AELxWCxGen3rx_W2/s320/Blocks1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
First gather your paper and trace your blocks onto the paper and cut out the squares. I used 6 different designs and cut out 5 squares of each design (I wanted to cover 5 out of the 6 sides of the block and I had 6 blocks.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPzKXPeycyqCxn9K7Gxj30HKa7jZSKOPcByau5gVsA9OGke-k_C3Yw86kFwbJV8tVF694_VfWL8qbHAY_chKJv5Js6Cixtgm04uxWERrmnFkyjqEDQhLdVfzDV5pvThpmiaUkY8xBGDprD/s1600/Blocks2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPzKXPeycyqCxn9K7Gxj30HKa7jZSKOPcByau5gVsA9OGke-k_C3Yw86kFwbJV8tVF694_VfWL8qbHAY_chKJv5Js6Cixtgm04uxWERrmnFkyjqEDQhLdVfzDV5pvThpmiaUkY8xBGDprD/s320/Blocks2.jpg" width="159" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht3aDxU3tc5foJhhdjhbIZL-ukXkaKhLJzG8amDPHuu8892aKwUoYk0Iwz2KJTlxrnQXOp4AJZYojjC6_7YML-a7Azsc5UIyaSvGacw6RYlFSxn_O0pPxXlF0Z_HsYqbevlnfjavvR8S4I/s1600/Blocks3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="119" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht3aDxU3tc5foJhhdjhbIZL-ukXkaKhLJzG8amDPHuu8892aKwUoYk0Iwz2KJTlxrnQXOp4AJZYojjC6_7YML-a7Azsc5UIyaSvGacw6RYlFSxn_O0pPxXlF0Z_HsYqbevlnfjavvR8S4I/s320/Blocks3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Then using your acrylic craft paint and foam brush, paint the letters.<br />
<b style="color: #e06666;">*Tip: I did 2 coats of paint, especially on the dark colors like the blue and the green.*</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJvSfO4e2bDTuiMRrFwe6OLMz2-tT0tXFd6_IIyMzoPChu_e9VQIPG0YFS7Ulr0AKACWjiIW_RgbuoZGywjkSD4btiEL-W04qY0RIxsYBR-HnCUpUN9QWZuZdyr0OPqezfflba4I5Bcxfz/s1600/Blocks4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJvSfO4e2bDTuiMRrFwe6OLMz2-tT0tXFd6_IIyMzoPChu_e9VQIPG0YFS7Ulr0AKACWjiIW_RgbuoZGywjkSD4btiEL-W04qY0RIxsYBR-HnCUpUN9QWZuZdyr0OPqezfflba4I5Bcxfz/s320/Blocks4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the block.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEike0If3EgDODWRxENA8tZR_l89DXmh2nhMA-Kh1JALaoh2TxQ4ikC0GTF2T8xKSLpi-02XT2P7sGlLocEwvuqrj1SnDyRgf1vNEXV5dUO64d1nnjsu0gV7CGGmByG8bT8Szxqhnn87GkmV/s1600/Blocks5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEike0If3EgDODWRxENA8tZR_l89DXmh2nhMA-Kh1JALaoh2TxQ4ikC0GTF2T8xKSLpi-02XT2P7sGlLocEwvuqrj1SnDyRgf1vNEXV5dUO64d1nnjsu0gV7CGGmByG8bT8Szxqhnn87GkmV/s320/Blocks5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
And apply the paper. <br />
<b style="color: #e06666;">*Tip: I only put paper on one side of the block at a time. Then I flipped it over so the side with the paper was on the bottom while I did one side of the other blocks to let the Mod Podge dry a little.*</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2-ic0Pnrl-38IiTMQkxU4rUe6ouzv4e2wa687Wbz0vmyo5Uz_NZPVWzTMXI-MRuylG2sZzlwKIX3vCbP2UvMAkhCEz46G8yDiY99QBIoxWDbZB-r4qHlGXgCWGn2YPKNcQ1R1AgOgYYMB/s1600/Blocks6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2-ic0Pnrl-38IiTMQkxU4rUe6ouzv4e2wa687Wbz0vmyo5Uz_NZPVWzTMXI-MRuylG2sZzlwKIX3vCbP2UvMAkhCEz46G8yDiY99QBIoxWDbZB-r4qHlGXgCWGn2YPKNcQ1R1AgOgYYMB/s320/Blocks6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Sand or file off the edges of the paper.<br />
<br />
Do that for all of your blocks one side at a time. Don't put all the paper on then try to sand the sides off because it doesn't work! (Believe me, I tried it...)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_SnqG8BLlR_qOWYkTrpmuyn232vD9O5bviArvaJO3GzV_-poeNFk_PjJPFg-O-KJcjPKeybjBf9addj1nBGwD3aUL7qyIPoMJ3WQRZuV7mm85iCX3yoxwOhvkyvOyPih8W6erVE-9gACz/s1600/Blocks9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_SnqG8BLlR_qOWYkTrpmuyn232vD9O5bviArvaJO3GzV_-poeNFk_PjJPFg-O-KJcjPKeybjBf9addj1nBGwD3aUL7qyIPoMJ3WQRZuV7mm85iCX3yoxwOhvkyvOyPih8W6erVE-9gACz/s320/Blocks9.jpg" width="169" /></a></div><br />
Once the blocks are dry, you can display them! I did each block 1 design, but you can mix and match the paper, use a different color paint, etc. The possibilities are endless! And you don't have to worry about cutting out the letters if you don't have a Circuit (like me), or messing around with stencils.<br />
<br />
This would even be a cute Mother's Day present! ;)<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

It felt like the weekend having an extra set of hands around the house all day. I think it was my unofficial birthday or something. lol!<br />
<br />
Here's what we got into:<br />
<br />
Dad escorted us to our last day of gym class! Riley had a blast showing dad everything he learned this session. :)<br />

<br />
After gym class we ran some errands, ate lunch, and Dad went to the driving range while Riley napped and I worked on my <a href="http://butter-nugget.blogspot.com/2011/04/foot-stool-reupholster.html">Foot Stool Reupholster</a>.<br />
<br />
Then we took Riley on his first ever bike ride! We are definitely a bike-riding fam, but we didn't get the chance to do it last spring or summer. I am so excited to get back into biking! :)<br />

Riley had a blast riding down to the park, playing, then riding back. Actually, he threw a fit when it was time to go inside. Ah, to be 2 1/2 again... :)<br />
<br />
I'm so thankful for days like this! It thrills me to see the relationship Riley has with Dad. As Riley always tells me: I'm a lucky girl! :)<br />

It had so much potential, but just needed a little face lift.<br />

I'll tell you how I changed it from this:<br />

The plywood looked good from here and all the legs were sturdy and thankfully nothing was broken! So I banged the plywood out with a hammer. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS_jyLPhwcnPwM8RGNNaokPzRPpO9s86aZdhRfwXgV0gZIRnHU0uWUAVXSXwAMsWsuxQbvSdRwfB3ygV24pAjI9Xwcj1WN2n4tuCS2-9z-4E4fUplgmAvZ3JECcx4VbzWxd-qVRng6f5OQ/s1600/Stool8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS_jyLPhwcnPwM8RGNNaokPzRPpO9s86aZdhRfwXgV0gZIRnHU0uWUAVXSXwAMsWsuxQbvSdRwfB3ygV24pAjI9Xwcj1WN2n4tuCS2-9z-4E4fUplgmAvZ3JECcx4VbzWxd-qVRng6f5OQ/s320/Stool8.jpg" width="284" /></a></div>So I got the nails out with a hammer. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Y2xkC-uADPffr_tw0eesYoaN3GyfZdrtbnMV82VQfRAh4ESgAEhKCpFPbhxeqt4LMpDjuizlOC4Y1HQm_GkVZ4T8L0G3cM7IdMEtfQnyR3YhooysZaTrEfwuugFf4bbktpPdKGFx0k4h/s1600/Stool9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Y2xkC-uADPffr_tw0eesYoaN3GyfZdrtbnMV82VQfRAh4ESgAEhKCpFPbhxeqt4LMpDjuizlOC4Y1HQm_GkVZ4T8L0G3cM7IdMEtfQnyR3YhooysZaTrEfwuugFf4bbktpPdKGFx0k4h/s320/Stool9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>And decided not to use them again, so I threw them away. <br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf4MvZt0Bka5jNB0N-lr04eFDeA3TpbuNDX_J7lEwcQ1ev8yb8tj7BQZ1f0rd9SqA_J6PlY1yRy_AAq4F-ExidrvYXfMXpK6mUAwXIeW1N4tL1WMVTc7KkiPUDonJratVCOOlAbLCf9wKz/s1600/Stool11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf4MvZt0Bka5jNB0N-lr04eFDeA3TpbuNDX_J7lEwcQ1ev8yb8tj7BQZ1f0rd9SqA_J6PlY1yRy_AAq4F-ExidrvYXfMXpK6mUAwXIeW1N4tL1WMVTc7KkiPUDonJratVCOOlAbLCf9wKz/s320/Stool11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I had to use the pliers on all of them because usually only one side of the staple would come free. <br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1ze-IfMVunxqBotVb3NNocCskGxSYQrkbGCHCyszqLHTez8nrtg7LMxNh3mj9l1SFLGUXVfj_1JMKjWwMgshnPOWXQcQbvV8gAIu2JICu-04jDEozyUkvBur8AP9ghv7dZISIYZ7oPDEt/s1600/Stool13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1ze-IfMVunxqBotVb3NNocCskGxSYQrkbGCHCyszqLHTez8nrtg7LMxNh3mj9l1SFLGUXVfj_1JMKjWwMgshnPOWXQcQbvV8gAIu2JICu-04jDEozyUkvBur8AP9ghv7dZISIYZ7oPDEt/s320/Stool13.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Some of the staples were rusted and REALLY hard to get out. So I wedged the screwdriver underneath the staple <i>and</i> the fabric using a hammer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuU6XGjGi49G8p2AHtctnw1KN24WKyHpT-gUsRxrOXpg5HaWpHmPG5jEipNORHT-ptC4ljo3MSi-a8uXp0Nn8UMfHfAEUDQsGZGolZj8xVRmXis1QG7z97WTi9l6L4ClmwsHj9_9BmH8bh/s1600/Stool14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuU6XGjGi49G8p2AHtctnw1KN24WKyHpT-gUsRxrOXpg5HaWpHmPG5jEipNORHT-ptC4ljo3MSi-a8uXp0Nn8UMfHfAEUDQsGZGolZj8xVRmXis1QG7z97WTi9l6L4ClmwsHj9_9BmH8bh/s320/Stool14.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>After taking out 50-some staples, you're left with naked plywood! ;) Unfortunately, the original pad was dry-rotted, and had to be thrown away with the old fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCRi9fn7AcSvBFN8lEBXJGYHx4sWO4YzrNBk8RiarqyjxzWvCmJz_pk3r50eWB0YIE1l6ojjsG70y_Ln9VyzszU_EEBg-MUzpEI6_tP_ckr4dauF2c29Emv2zU5kuSN_eXGXdVnMiKFOMQ/s1600/Stool15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCRi9fn7AcSvBFN8lEBXJGYHx4sWO4YzrNBk8RiarqyjxzWvCmJz_pk3r50eWB0YIE1l6ojjsG70y_Ln9VyzszU_EEBg-MUzpEI6_tP_ckr4dauF2c29Emv2zU5kuSN_eXGXdVnMiKFOMQ/s320/Stool15.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>So back to Joann's I went to get a new pad. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj1F_A1M0UHb-Dkf0VnIkRtp0rvdFWyMQLkq5_e6IvDS7wBmJ3mY4uoyvo1f5pPqere5zLEa6gJcQNvTMXMEgzl7zLmu-XnxNDYLU-i3Ciin0w-I1pbK_nINdFHpySqUUSjH5w2hXcJbIn/s1600/Stool16.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="233" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj1F_A1M0UHb-Dkf0VnIkRtp0rvdFWyMQLkq5_e6IvDS7wBmJ3mY4uoyvo1f5pPqere5zLEa6gJcQNvTMXMEgzl7zLmu-XnxNDYLU-i3Ciin0w-I1pbK_nINdFHpySqUUSjH5w2hXcJbIn/s320/Stool16.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>The pad was too big so I put my plywood on top...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrB_vq8_SOfhnYIJEI-iR2WQ1BjNXgGdUux9nJsIc-Vr3dQwc-eQD_yvaBczOk283LrLPAoJDXdLbc4XGN4jDkizGztCc0aKVMH_jS3l4XevtwJLzG-mdWHPgY2gPZRCvSqC6fmkPNBK1X/s1600/Stool17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrB_vq8_SOfhnYIJEI-iR2WQ1BjNXgGdUux9nJsIc-Vr3dQwc-eQD_yvaBczOk283LrLPAoJDXdLbc4XGN4jDkizGztCc0aKVMH_jS3l4XevtwJLzG-mdWHPgY2gPZRCvSqC6fmkPNBK1X/s320/Stool17.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>And traced around it then cut the foam to fit! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXtR-lgnut4r-KfKNOpz4sSRF6acZb35_t6-C4Zirmv7BoT7zuuSnaAdBwn1d3MRvH7hG2rQfCBVKWBYBGbPjNNVyLj05lO-RbZMeDmseJOUrLpN7gteJPpqEr_Sw9ACk3-QfYfVm9RK1A/s1600/Stool18.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXtR-lgnut4r-KfKNOpz4sSRF6acZb35_t6-C4Zirmv7BoT7zuuSnaAdBwn1d3MRvH7hG2rQfCBVKWBYBGbPjNNVyLj05lO-RbZMeDmseJOUrLpN7gteJPpqEr_Sw9ACk3-QfYfVm9RK1A/s320/Stool18.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Then I put the plywood on the fabric and measured in 4" all the way around, marked and cut it.<br />
<br />
And I ironed the fabric out. (Not pictured, but you don't want to have wrinkly fabric!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1QOFJdt9W7-E-O-NK31ch0O8SLKX75saM9uEvi9trJRWIZd9VqhKXcL5JFQCi3YSGPmScbkbJNAXJA_d_GICUxFBu2ARwWN1JTIPc4wHx1YFzLex3Ua43M15kDWrEaMI1nrHEWJ7wXJMS/s1600/Stool19.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1QOFJdt9W7-E-O-NK31ch0O8SLKX75saM9uEvi9trJRWIZd9VqhKXcL5JFQCi3YSGPmScbkbJNAXJA_d_GICUxFBu2ARwWN1JTIPc4wHx1YFzLex3Ua43M15kDWrEaMI1nrHEWJ7wXJMS/s320/Stool19.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Stack the foam then plywood (in that order) onto the fabric.<br />
<br />
I'm so mad I didn't get a picture of this part! I will try to explain it the best I can.<br />
Starting with the <b>long</b> sides, fold the fabric in about 1/4"-1/2" (so the rough edge of the fabric is not showing) then fold again so the fabric is taught against the foam pad. Staple gun it a lot to secure it to the plywood.<br />
Then fold the short ends the same way, making a nice looking fold on the corners.<br />
(This is my first reupholstering experience, and I have no idea how to fold the corners! I just did it how I thought looked best.)<br />
Reattach the plywood to the frame of the stool by nailing it to the little blocks of wood on the underneath.<br />
It should look like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy3lBQKBlhhJul8J0Qgb5pgON4gRJPnaFEb1UV7xMn-hQzXxzoO3GYDq_H6CPHQnTEZx5oAgIL8n1GyuDv9AwoDKoaEqBzrn6aXr8kHJ2Jfr6wZXZxF44rOnjXMopfrQuasnoXHHs1Z2XI/s1600/Stool20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy3lBQKBlhhJul8J0Qgb5pgON4gRJPnaFEb1UV7xMn-hQzXxzoO3GYDq_H6CPHQnTEZx5oAgIL8n1GyuDv9AwoDKoaEqBzrn6aXr8kHJ2Jfr6wZXZxF44rOnjXMopfrQuasnoXHHs1Z2XI/s320/Stool20.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWFJwLK0N7jdd52UEhnVe182csf3ZS7KEbhmvLz_epGZzZwWF75LNLisybkR_LoutCFC5VUHkBymlrL36dlrGSYasaapSbOKuu9OsakeshdX5V78rxJwRugInC8AU9mIr5djlzyKp9IEyW/s1600/Stool21.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWFJwLK0N7jdd52UEhnVe182csf3ZS7KEbhmvLz_epGZzZwWF75LNLisybkR_LoutCFC5VUHkBymlrL36dlrGSYasaapSbOKuu9OsakeshdX5V78rxJwRugInC8AU9mIr5djlzyKp9IEyW/s320/Stool21.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>Riley gives it the seal of approval!<br />
<br />
If I could have saved the original pad, I would have only spent about $3 on this stool, but because I had to buy a new pad the grand total was about $8!<br />
<br />
Not bad for a super cute addition to the house.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by! :)<br />

There was great food, wonderful vendors, an awesome DJ, a moon bounce (along with other kid-friendly activities), and heart-warming support from the community! All of which made it an event to remember:)<br />
<br />
I was so moved and pleased by the feedback I got from many of the people who visited my booth at the bazaar. Everyone was so supportive and encouraging- I couldn't have asked for a better experience!<br />
<br />
Regarding the set up of the table, we did it a little differently this time.<br />
<br />
I'll start from the top:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Go9VvaCzS5idQh8-QGXyD69ydlRBTdeJgSIGERCJs3N0YEzTrhgm_HEeqi6H8clUVZJJfJvFVAjowqyIKM5Ha_IYRLkL1TTAfPoMsXYs_38dH9nswRwj2Y8vfl5_YFyliq58UO-71nr7/s1600/CSCSpringBazaarTable.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Go9VvaCzS5idQh8-QGXyD69ydlRBTdeJgSIGERCJs3N0YEzTrhgm_HEeqi6H8clUVZJJfJvFVAjowqyIKM5Ha_IYRLkL1TTAfPoMsXYs_38dH9nswRwj2Y8vfl5_YFyliq58UO-71nr7/s320/CSCSpringBazaarTable.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The branches in the back with the twine strung between them and the Crinkly Critters hanging from the twine are two Pussy Willow branches Matt cut for me! I don't know if you can see it, but there are those little fuzzy things (buds maybe?) all over the branches. It looked wonderful! We just "bungeed" the branches to the back legs of the table and strung twine between the two. It acted as a "clothes line" and gave the table great height! It also freed up the red suitcase which I used to hold the wreaths instead of holding the Crinkly Critters like at the <a href="http://butter-nugget.blogspot.com/2011/03/first-craft-fair-ever.html">Liberty High Craft Fair</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
I used the <a href="http://butter-nugget.blogspot.com/2011/04/melamine-tiered-tray-tutorial.html">Tiered Trays</a> to hold the hair clips and pins. And I also got to use my <a href="http://butter-nugget.blogspot.com/2011/03/jewlry-tree.html">Jewelry Tree</a> to display my necklaces and a Crinkly Critter or two!<br />
<br />
Many people asked me if I am on Etsy, or have a website. As of right now it's just the blog (and email!), but maybe I should consider making a website of some sort! I was also asked by more than one person if I do any type of house parties or anything. Truth be told, one may be in the works... :D<br />
<br />
Thanks again to everyone who visited my booth and came out to the CSC Spring Bazaar. It turned out to be a wonderful event and I hope it becomes a yearly tradition in the Cape!<br />
<br />
Also a great big <span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>thank you</b></span> to my dad!<br />
And of course, Matt- you know you rock!<br />

They are so cute and girly, but <strike>we</strike> I never get to use them because Riley is all boy and tough! Once I saw <a href="http://tatertotsandjello.blogspot.com/2011/02/5-challenge-3-different-dollar-store.html">this</a> tutorial over at <a href="http://tatertotsandjello.blogspot.com/">Tatertots and Jello</a>, I knew exactly what I would do with my super-cute <i>girly</i> plates. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">How did I do it, you ask? It was easy-peasy! Take a look:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">To make one tiered tray, you will need</div><br />
<ul><li>2 melamine plates</li>
<li>1 candlestick holders</li>
<li>A pencil</li>
<li>E-6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive</li>
</ul>First let me tell ya a little bit about my new boyfriend, E-6000.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYLixEbC_H5v8TuJy19vgTW9s3QWahKhXhaGTWLHoxGTFjcwoX8mQg94qirTJ0ar2R341s72SLTA_l-58X2L2P4lK_uodaH7WUSzd2qQ-LRX9efVnSflbBvy7aDgwhjwyYEGGC-us2b1h6/s1600/Trays6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="175" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYLixEbC_H5v8TuJy19vgTW9s3QWahKhXhaGTWLHoxGTFjcwoX8mQg94qirTJ0ar2R341s72SLTA_l-58X2L2P4lK_uodaH7WUSzd2qQ-LRX9efVnSflbBvy7aDgwhjwyYEGGC-us2b1h6/s320/Trays6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
This stuff right here is the OG of adhesives. It works on any and every thing (as long as you do it correctly, so read and re-read the directions!). And, get this, it is completely water-proof! So that means the new Melamine trays you are going to make will be top-rack dishwasher safe (or at least safe to wash by hand if you are afraid to wash them in the dishwasher.)<br />
<b style="color: #e06666;">*Make sure you read the directions very well and only use E-6000 in a well-ventilated area!* </b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAyRCv1Uyc6cjww3N6EoSFIi_V0of9u0rIbEfC8FYFCC6YIjKamQ9qTLtIhn3lvDV2afiX63IQMYa5zwvDpLaN0LniQZjOFqlM9cfeFHWuAxi2KUyfDXsRYH_7N9edprposJNh7OCsV-mI/s1600/Trays1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAyRCv1Uyc6cjww3N6EoSFIi_V0of9u0rIbEfC8FYFCC6YIjKamQ9qTLtIhn3lvDV2afiX63IQMYa5zwvDpLaN0LniQZjOFqlM9cfeFHWuAxi2KUyfDXsRYH_7N9edprposJNh7OCsV-mI/s320/Trays1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
So gather your cutesy plates and your candlestick holder and let's begin!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW-fCWuEA1xwG1WR_2xAaGBOJJfVnRRKb7xLMaQBjp5EJwrXJKi8NSYxjtDlzAGiYbc50R19p3wpnu0UF8x7J632CKnnM3YN89g-TyYmgGHD1lxRNPv74oYrbFDk-f_jz6_a0XCcatweXK/s1600/Trays2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW-fCWuEA1xwG1WR_2xAaGBOJJfVnRRKb7xLMaQBjp5EJwrXJKi8NSYxjtDlzAGiYbc50R19p3wpnu0UF8x7J632CKnnM3YN89g-TyYmgGHD1lxRNPv74oYrbFDk-f_jz6_a0XCcatweXK/s320/Trays2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Flip your candlestick holder upside down (the bottom/wide part of it should be on the <b>underneath</b> of the top plate). Here I am tracing the <i>top</i> part of the candlestick holder where I want it to be on the <i>bottom</i> plate. Do this for both the top and bottom plate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKvrxKJXfHWND4PzdF8IzStmDSAhP7E16Q1MjfE0QWwOBVFAxau8tuZ9d_6zb4b50y1hZXBA3Zi7RwRnNiieWuXCUBrBEFiCTq_ZkCCSWRDknNuaLvcCczVNse3MlJjH0sp6Mvya1P3Xjj/s1600/Trays3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKvrxKJXfHWND4PzdF8IzStmDSAhP7E16Q1MjfE0QWwOBVFAxau8tuZ9d_6zb4b50y1hZXBA3Zi7RwRnNiieWuXCUBrBEFiCTq_ZkCCSWRDknNuaLvcCczVNse3MlJjH0sp6Mvya1P3Xjj/s320/Trays3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Put a thin line of glue just inside where you traced your circle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZyRMJWmhj3Sl1zVn7yAHWFceVw_L70qCM-5kE9pjsBzQ05ld75BAO3H5IHNS8w-n6JYtMNgxJJvTklpCqOY5D-eMKjJ1AlIGfaeL8iRzgnpR02N83nCV82UszrX1kA_LDC3fvxpJmI8Xc/s1600/Trays4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZyRMJWmhj3Sl1zVn7yAHWFceVw_L70qCM-5kE9pjsBzQ05ld75BAO3H5IHNS8w-n6JYtMNgxJJvTklpCqOY5D-eMKjJ1AlIGfaeL8iRzgnpR02N83nCV82UszrX1kA_LDC3fvxpJmI8Xc/s320/Trays4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
And put a thin line of glue around the perimeter of your candlestick holder. (I glued the candlestick holder to the top plate first, but you can do it either way!)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQPTghEpqSQiO8PKXCHVvR9TqzMj6YTHQuDBasIgln8JM6k9A88boCO7xDIODyiEcf9hllyGRemuxIpnHmprDuEcRyHLEN964JB3T7v5NMTbUbWMIPnn3-ZipM0QBRCHpa5QTWp2hcIx8w/s1600/Trays5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQPTghEpqSQiO8PKXCHVvR9TqzMj6YTHQuDBasIgln8JM6k9A88boCO7xDIODyiEcf9hllyGRemuxIpnHmprDuEcRyHLEN964JB3T7v5NMTbUbWMIPnn3-ZipM0QBRCHpa5QTWp2hcIx8w/s320/Trays5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Wait 2-10 minutes for the glue to "set" (my terminology, not sure exactly what word the directions say!), then press the candlestick holder <i>firmly </i>onto the plate.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Repeat the same steps for the other plate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6HXvGhgrFImmK5JJpB3U-WH-DPLE9N5vPe65hSgKg_2nkS0gNv4AhDOGpriznMIFzhxUGmP9cGbXS_lQOhT3jg1yqdf8_rtFr3iYAweP0EJSwxJtxFggY-XNxWl6kztLbToideFqGvCmp/s1600/Trays7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6HXvGhgrFImmK5JJpB3U-WH-DPLE9N5vPe65hSgKg_2nkS0gNv4AhDOGpriznMIFzhxUGmP9cGbXS_lQOhT3jg1yqdf8_rtFr3iYAweP0EJSwxJtxFggY-XNxWl6kztLbToideFqGvCmp/s320/Trays7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Then put something heavy on your tiered trays and let them dry in a room temperature, well-ventilated area or room for 24-72 hours (the longer you let it dry, the stronger the bond will be!)<br />
<br />
Once the adhesive is dry, figure out what to use your new trays for!<br />
<br />

I may use this one to hold cupcakes at Riley's next birthday! (The "1," "2," and "3" are Picnik stickers!)<br />
<br />
And the fourth one with the bowl on the top? I was thinking chips and dip! Dip in the bowl and chips on the plate underneath. <br />
<br />
Well, there ya go! Told ya it was easy :)<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3u35r24qx4GVxcJp9GU_rAnqwr8RrEdv5uuAeTOP-qGr2axzfQDDQYkbgVa7sH9y7DXueWv4NGGuDAblsrdtFZUlhHzEsIlVULbIsElhLyX1PsatB_ZJ3ySY-xvFcb1hActEe8jyFbybp/s1600/ODWS4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3u35r24qx4GVxcJp9GU_rAnqwr8RrEdv5uuAeTOP-qGr2axzfQDDQYkbgVa7sH9y7DXueWv4NGGuDAblsrdtFZUlhHzEsIlVULbIsElhLyX1PsatB_ZJ3ySY-xvFcb1hActEe8jyFbybp/s320/ODWS4.jpg" width="220" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And we even watched a movie barefoot!:)<br />
<br />
<br />
It was a beautiful 50-something degrees and rainy outside, so we did inside barefoot activities.<br />
<br />
Hope everyone had a happy (and barefoot) One Day Without Shoes!:)<br />

And as I told you in my previous <a href="http://butter-nugget.blogspot.com/2011/03/one-day-without-shoes.html">post</a>, I will keep you updated on what Riley and I do to celebrate ODWS!<br />
<br />
This morning we made the t-shirts we are going to wear tomorrow. If you also want to make a ODWS t-shirt, here's how to do it:<br />
<br />
You will need:<br />
<ul><li>Paper to cover your work area</li>
<li>Your size t-shirt </li>
<li>Black and light blue fabric paint</li>
<li>Tape</li>
<li>The stencils (PDF found <a href="http://www.onedaywithoutshoes.com/event-toolkit">here</a> under Sticker/Stencils tab)</li>
<li>A lot of card stock sheets</li>
<li>An x-acto knife (or a fancy cutter-outer machine which I do not own)</li>
<li>Tape</li>
<li>Foam brushes</li>
<li>Yours and your child(ren)'s feet (optional)</li>
</ul>First, get ALL of your materials together and ready. You don't want to be running around getting stuff in the middle of your t-shirt project when wet paint and possibly young children are involved! ;)<br />
<br />
Print out your stencils onto the card stock and cut out the <b>black</b> parts with an x-acto knife. (side note: I could not show this step in a picture because I absolutely suck at cutting anything out with an x-acto knife. I think it should probably be illegal for me to even use one it's so bad) :(<br />
<br />
Then you will position and tape your stencil on to your shirt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJpvgIjZqlQ0gkSUzgb3IRDTnfgcka0BTip_Dug-IZ6U9nmOZPBo_EXz_e8PBD9bUBrDkmesYwwzza2-GSLjKzNDMJ4NdKtJXSdaZpQHBt_ebE1IkT-bfteFbq6FiTOCkpyqlTRBk0kWAA/s1600/TOMS2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="218" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJpvgIjZqlQ0gkSUzgb3IRDTnfgcka0BTip_Dug-IZ6U9nmOZPBo_EXz_e8PBD9bUBrDkmesYwwzza2-GSLjKzNDMJ4NdKtJXSdaZpQHBt_ebE1IkT-bfteFbq6FiTOCkpyqlTRBk0kWAA/s320/TOMS2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<b style="color: #e06666;">IMPORTANT</b>: Before you paint, put a piece of card stock <i>inside</i> your shirt between the two places you plan on painting. This will keep any paint from leaking on to the other side of your shirt.<br />
<br />
Using your fabric paint and foam brushes, paint the stencil design on to your shirt. <b><span style="color: #e06666;">*Then remove the stencil from the shirt ASAP before the paint begins to dry! You will not ruin your design when you do this! If you wait until it dries, the paint will act as glue and some of the paper will come off on to the paint and you will not be able to get it off!!*</span></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGSDsUH09H_yMIyoKDk8wKKEIxPjNYR3Nh3KimPG0Qzm3jM01B5PWTL0LMlvZqGfrr7AVjBHBtRVDWJtU2J0ziFh4rXHkyxLWyT1dX0w5XVvvDxKiiMNFecR_dqIt-ssZBpjz3Qs2hAmvI/s1600/TOMS3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGSDsUH09H_yMIyoKDk8wKKEIxPjNYR3Nh3KimPG0Qzm3jM01B5PWTL0LMlvZqGfrr7AVjBHBtRVDWJtU2J0ziFh4rXHkyxLWyT1dX0w5XVvvDxKiiMNFecR_dqIt-ssZBpjz3Qs2hAmvI/s320/TOMS3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This is the FRONT of Riley's shirt.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijRTvND2HWEs2aZBZer06DttBMuTRGYwerjlWGJHHS_CdDClp-Ub5cExaqOFg2MrH_XEyvAx0zbOq-Ty7Snb9oKsO2MxrVm8C9EzOHFXx_vy4uNbjAzKYd1bMTzYuK3l3zZNMNwfceWjBj/s1600/TOMS4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="252" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijRTvND2HWEs2aZBZer06DttBMuTRGYwerjlWGJHHS_CdDClp-Ub5cExaqOFg2MrH_XEyvAx0zbOq-Ty7Snb9oKsO2MxrVm8C9EzOHFXx_vy4uNbjAzKYd1bMTzYuK3l3zZNMNwfceWjBj/s320/TOMS4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="color: black;">The same design is on the BACK of my shirt.</span></span><br />
<br />
Let the paint dry.<br />
<br />
If you want to have a design on both sides, then flip your shirt over and paint your design on the back. Peel off the stencil.<br />
<br />
And if you want a foot print on your shirt, paint your foot with fabric paint, then stick it on your shirt really good and peel it off. Then wash all the paint off your foot. ;)<br />
<br />

<br />
In trying to find a cool way to display my necklaces at craft shows/fairs, I came across <a href="http://hopestudios.blogspot.com/2009/05/tutorial-tuesday-fun-branch-jewelry.html">this</a> tutorial over at Hope Studios. I did mine a little different, though...<br />
<br />
You will need:<br />
<ul><li>Some branches (I have 4 to give it a more symmetrical look)</li>
<li>Spray paint in your choice of color (I used white) </li>
<li>A wide-mouth mason jar or a vase (I got the mason jar for this project from Michaels)</li>
<li>Rocks, gravel, marbles, something heavy (I used rocks, sea glass, and other stuff Riley and I have found at our community beach)</li>
<li>A piece of ribbon to tie the branches together</li>
</ul>So first I went outside and found my branches. Then I stuck them into the ground and spray painted all the sides white and let them dry all the way.<br />
<br />
Once they were dry I brought them in and arranged them how I wanted them to look and tied them together tightly with the ribbon.<br />
<br />
Then I put the bottom of the branches into the jar and added the rocks/sea glass/other stuff all around them (this keeps the branches secure in the jar and makes the jar bottom-heavy so it doesn't tip over).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCttd_waQKuVok4MexGjSAlVgUO2kCxcixwkBFwfPJxMsX3wFOK_svNzpD4hXc_jXxeGy2zI0gBJwORjEUMq7u39amLkYfvXfaznHUzFrH8umB98Gzx8RIixMDL4QfrcTVsLfkwLwG3-gg/s1600/Tree1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCttd_waQKuVok4MexGjSAlVgUO2kCxcixwkBFwfPJxMsX3wFOK_svNzpD4hXc_jXxeGy2zI0gBJwORjEUMq7u39amLkYfvXfaznHUzFrH8umB98Gzx8RIixMDL4QfrcTVsLfkwLwG3-gg/s320/Tree1.jpg" width="249" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Then I hung my stuff up!:D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHGXsJs8Y44a587DYWzolCCs282H7eE1hKx5JDUhxh65uJtp2rbWp8Bp2PiwkC-IHIGl64bfp1RvFvbcAOWEX81ZOXBAstgZ6UMGXl9yurM_v4AkpBeepFxIAOBF8P-ycr5ed3Ap65qa1j/s1600/Tree3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHGXsJs8Y44a587DYWzolCCs282H7eE1hKx5JDUhxh65uJtp2rbWp8Bp2PiwkC-IHIGl64bfp1RvFvbcAOWEX81ZOXBAstgZ6UMGXl9yurM_v4AkpBeepFxIAOBF8P-ycr5ed3Ap65qa1j/s320/Tree3.jpg" width="268" /></a></div><br />
It's so easy, and rather customizable! I did mine on a smaller scale than the one over at Hope Studios, but you can do yours as big or small as you want! You can also paint the branches any color, or use a different jar/vase. Make it your own. Just make sure you pick sturdy branches that will hold the stuff you plan on hanging;)<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!:)<br />
<br />
Until next time, <b style="color: #6fa8dc;">toodles</b>!<br />
<br />
P.S. This would be so cute as an Easter tree with some Egg ornaments and maybe some paper butterflies adorning it! I may do that the week before Easter... hmm... I'll post pictures if I do!<br />

I got some butterflies from Michael's and put them on! I think the butterflies are a cute touch and will look great along with the necklaces and Crinkly Critters I'll be displaying at craft fairs!:)<br />

Since the internet has never seen an actual picture of this so-called "Easter" wreath, here it is! (Just so you all know I'm not fibbing) ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha64zLIINeE7NKr1J1oDY9tEOvacsAAEaMKt8DqJnAM5_iXR03Pgb4ErGcbhUxfexB2JOFQq5XlV778b1fd0VAnfGGqpNBbONXdAfB4dvxBZUzUcdi_uznhNYUpRY5wV2-7OexQ6wl4kO6/s1600/EasterWreath.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha64zLIINeE7NKr1J1oDY9tEOvacsAAEaMKt8DqJnAM5_iXR03Pgb4ErGcbhUxfexB2JOFQq5XlV778b1fd0VAnfGGqpNBbONXdAfB4dvxBZUzUcdi_uznhNYUpRY5wV2-7OexQ6wl4kO6/s320/EasterWreath.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>There she is! Ain't she a beaut?<br />
<br />
So, the lucky winner of this pink-a-licious wreath is...<br />
<br />
Julie Nottingham!<br />
<br />
I have contacted Ms. Nottingham via email, and hope to hear back from her at her earliest convenience.<br />
<br />

EVER!Yesterday I was a vendor at a craft fair for the first time <b>ever</b>. It was actually in the town I grew up in for the majority of my school-years, so it was good to be back home for a little while:)<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, a student from Oklahoma Road Middle School (a middle school that feeds in to Liberty High) had passed away and the funeral was held at 11AM on the same day as the craft fair. It was very sad news, and did put a solemn damper on the craft fair.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://eldersburg.patch.com/articles/remembering-cam-popular-eldersburg-boy-14-dies-of-leukemia">Here</a> is an article about the student.<br />
<br />
All-in-all it went ok. <span data-jsid="text"><span class="text_exposed_show">I sold a few things, but not much. Although, I don't think many people vending, if anyone, cleared the cost of their spots. Some people had more than one spot at about $50-60 a pop! It was just a very slow day considering the tragedy that struck the town. Many vendors who have done the bi-yearly fair before said the one in the fall is much more crowded, and the spring fair is usually slower. However, the circumstances this year are not the norm.</span></span> Although I did not sell many items, I got a lot of positive feedback from many people. I got a feel for what a craft fair is, what people were most interested in regarding what I had made, and what to expect in the future. <br />
<br />
In addition, I got a good feel for the kind of "crowd" my crafts are aimed towards. Most of the attendants of the fair seemed to be looking for more cottagey things and the Americana-based crafts, kind of the Longaberger Basket feel, and that is just not my niche. There was a lot of great, creative vendors there, but it just wasn't my "cup of tea," so to speak. I think I would be way more at home in Downtown Annapolis and the surrounding area. I got the feeling my product was a bit too edgy for the Liberty High School Craft Fair.<br />
<br />
Aside from all that, <span data-jsid="text"><span class="text_exposed_show">it was super fun, and a great experience. And it was great to walk around and see what everyone else had created and brought to sell at the fair!</span></span><br />

I was 18 when I had Riley. 18. His "DNA doner" was 20. Riley was not a planned pregnancy, but I hate calling him an "accident." It sounds so negative, and Riley is not at all negative. He is the sunshine that fills my day, and the love and happiness that fills my heart. Obviously Riley's father and I weren't married, we never did get married, and he chose to remove himself from the situation shortly after Riley was born.<br />
<br />
I'm 21 now and Riley and I are living our lives. Riley continues to impress me every day with his kindness, love for life, and his intelligence. He is a happy little boy with a wonderfully balanced home life. My dad acts as his dad, and Matt chips in too:) Riley has the best male role models any little boy could ask for. He also has the best extended family in my little sister, older step-brother, my mom, my step-dad, Matt's family, and my extended family, especially my grandma.<br />
<br />
I am a mom like any other mom out there. I wake up in the morning and make coffee to get through the day. But waking up at the crack ass of dawn is worth it with I see my little nugget-boy smile and say, "Good morning, mommy!" From that moment on it is go, go, go all day until I put him in his bed at night, but it is SO worth it. To see him excel at everything he does elates me. I made him, he is a product of ME.<br />
<br />
The only draw-back I see Riley go through is something that I unintentionally put him through. He doesn't have many go-to friends because I have the hardest time connecting with other moms. Yes, I am young, but does that make me any different than you? No. I have a sense of style, a pierced nose, and a tattoo, but does that make me a wild crazy partier? No. I at 20something do the same things that you at 30something do day-to-day. I have the same struggles, same questions, same life as you.<br />
<br />
It killed me when I witnessed someone actually remove their child from playing with Riley at a park once after they realized I was his mother and not his nanny. Actually, I can't even tell you how many times I've been asked if I am "the nanny" by different people in public, starting from when Riley was a new-born. This is what you are teaching your children? To not like someone because of their situation? My son is the happiest, most polite, sweet, kind little boy and your kid should be as happy to play with him as he is to play with them.<br />
<br />
I mean, come on, I thought we left high school behind, people! Why are you grouping me with a stereotype because of my age? Although I haven't made it to college yet, I am not ignorant. Although I turned 21 shortly after Riley turned 2 does not make me a uncontrollable party-girl. I am doing my best to be a good mother, "home-maker," girlfriend, daughter, sister, and friend and instill in my child respect, love, manners, happiness, and curiosity for life just like <b>you</b>.<br />
<br />
So, please, don't group me into a stereotype that I am not. Get to know me for me, and I will do the same for you.<br />
<br />
I will leave you with a quote from one of my all-time favorite movies, The Birdcage:<br />
<b>Albert:</b> What? No good? Why? I'm dressed just the way you are. I took off all my rings. I'm not wearing any makeup. I'm just a guy.<br />
<b>Armand:</b> What about those?<br />
<b>Albert:</b> Those? Well, one does want but a hint of color. Oh, I see, you're thinking that dressed this way, I'm even more obvious, aren't you? You're right. I just wanted so much to help you. And you hate me, you both hate me.<br />
<br />
Albert, I can relate...Bridget @ ButterNugget Creationshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11174461901530205524noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8681349874764378398.post-79133015875453637322011-03-21T11:29:00.000-07:002011-03-30T20:46:43.904-07:00One Day Without Shoes<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDMNlyngKxBhF5uX3NzZzQj9XjL0vMfNeZlQlB_04KLp9ECWShu9DBRbthSoyjB0lZnzN_8pSXDSIzO6cu62G2zwUd_InHyH6OdyMiQ79Vo7kaBqa8aQHZGN1IPkq3dQ5HdAQ87LSPAkQS/s1600/toms-logo22.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDMNlyngKxBhF5uX3NzZzQj9XjL0vMfNeZlQlB_04KLp9ECWShu9DBRbthSoyjB0lZnzN_8pSXDSIzO6cu62G2zwUd_InHyH6OdyMiQ79Vo7kaBqa8aQHZGN1IPkq3dQ5HdAQ87LSPAkQS/s320/toms-logo22.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
At <a href="http://www.toms.com/">TOMS Shoes</a> their mission is to provide children in developing countries with proper fitting shoes. They "... match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One."<br />
<br />
Here is a little blurb from their website:<br />
<h2 style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: small;">"Why Shoes?</span></h2>Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:<br />
<br />
•A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.<br />
<br />
•Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.<br />
<br />
•Many times children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential."<br />
<br />
I just found out about TOMS and their mission earlier this month (I know, I'm so behind), but the company and the good they do are now very close to my heart. I plan on purchasing my first pair of TOMS shoes very soon:) (And possibly a pair for Riley, and a pair for Matt!)<br />
<br />
April 5th is <a href="http://www.onedaywithoutshoes.com/">One Day Without Shoes</a>: "One Day Without Shoes is the day we take off our shoes to raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life."<br />
<br />
On the website you will be able to find all the event information, an "Event Toolkit" where you can find: banners for your blog, Posters/Fliers/Signs, Stickers/Stencils, ODWS events near you, learn more about the event, and look at the photo wall.<br />
<br />
Shoes are something so basic that we all take advantage of. Raising awareness and support will help everyone in the world enjoy the luxury of shoes!<br />
<br />
I hope everyone can and will participate! And if you can't go shoeless, make a t-shirt or some stickers to wear;)<br />
<br />
I will post what Riley and I do to celebrate ODWS. See ya [shoeless] on April 5th!<br />
<br />
Until next time, <b style="color: #6fa8dc;">toodles</b>! <br />

Really crazy. I have the craft fair coming up next Saturday (less than a week away), I accidentally buzzed Riley's hair wayyyyyyy too short, and we have been so busy that finding a time when it is nice outside and we are all awake to take our spring pictures has been close to impossible.<br />
<br />
Hence the reason it's been a while since I have blogged. And the reason I didn't do a tutorial this week:(<br />
<br />
But on to the pictures...<br />
<br />
Here they are!<br />

You don't even want to see the damage I did to Riley's hair. It is unspeakable. I keep telling myself it will grow back... But on the bright side, his favorite hat fits again:)<br />
<br />
Hope everyone has been having a great weekend:D<br />

But since it turned out <i>beyond</i> awesome, I want to share it with the world!:D<br />
<br />
It is...<br />
Drum-roll please!<br />
<br />
A teapot wind chime!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6H8gkkbxdolzpiQDg-SjRp1aIp-aOnIyoAw5ZyafrukwWi-AqFwIVrn72FNEmQF9vpMYRfP94VyUxSwSr4PlxXQUJdSKDcJ8s4aaw8oMardxlrq2FVbukKeqByEvsSQ4488lSJYwuqXL1/s1600/tea+pot+lo-res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6H8gkkbxdolzpiQDg-SjRp1aIp-aOnIyoAw5ZyafrukwWi-AqFwIVrn72FNEmQF9vpMYRfP94VyUxSwSr4PlxXQUJdSKDcJ8s4aaw8oMardxlrq2FVbukKeqByEvsSQ4488lSJYwuqXL1/s320/tea+pot+lo-res.jpg" width="219" /></a></div><br />
Matt and I made this baby after we saw a teapot wind chime at a cute little store downtown. The wind chimey part on that one was just spoons instead of our skeleton keys. We also added an old bell to the middle of ours.<br />
<br />
That's the background story, but how did we acquire the "stuff" to make it? Well I got the silver-plated teapot from our local Freecycle. Someone offered it and I snatched it up like hotcakes!;) The keys we got from a wedding we attended. They had a piece of an old door with nails sticking out all over it and the keys were hung on the nails with the place cards tied to the keys with hemp. Cool, huh? So we collected all of our family's place cards, and keys, and found a couple keys while cleaning out a cabinet in the dining room. But we still needed something for the middle that would make a nice sound when it hit the keys. So we hit up some antique stores and found an old bell. The middle of the bell, the little dingy thing (yes that is correct terminology), is wood!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjANzDWbrkL5ElyxaZ5syQ2rzN_WvHODeSaFwa08iNm65PXQcjmSfdJZ_ZKp8sfWxzDRwrzc0fr8tKTqFsClI2Z6eB112MAjVwOfONrBz-nfh4GHa3xEEdvZQPNgvCxEX9LEk3XYvKly3eJ/s1600/Keys+lo-res.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjANzDWbrkL5ElyxaZ5syQ2rzN_WvHODeSaFwa08iNm65PXQcjmSfdJZ_ZKp8sfWxzDRwrzc0fr8tKTqFsClI2Z6eB112MAjVwOfONrBz-nfh4GHa3xEEdvZQPNgvCxEX9LEk3XYvKly3eJ/s320/Keys+lo-res.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The bell cost us $2.<br />
<br />
Because we had to buy more hemp the entire wind chime cost us about $5! <br />
<br />
So, the how-to:<br />
<br />
You will need:<br />
<ul><li> A metal tea pot (ours was silver-plated)</li>
<li>Keys, or something that will make a chiming noise</li>
<li>A bell, or something for the middle that will hit the outside "stuff" and make them ding (does that make sense?)</li>
<li>Hemp, or another kind of "tough" string</li>
<li>A drill and a 1/8 inch drill bit</li>
<li>5 minute epoxy</li>
</ul>If you are using keys, you will want to cut a piece of hemp for each key long enough to hang your keys when folded in half. So basically twice as long as you want your keys to hang from the teapot. And you want to fold the piece of hemp in half and loop it through the key as shown above. We did 8 keys. Also do that for your bell.<br />
<br />
Next you are going to drill holes evenly in a circle through the bottom of your teapot. So since we had 8 keys we made 8 holes. This is easiest when you flip the teapot upside-down and draw a circle with a compass (you know, those things we used in math class) on the bottom of the teapot and drill the holes around the circle. And drill one hole in the middle for the bell. (Matt did this part. Me+drill+metal teapot=bad idea)<br />
<br />
Then you need to fit some small hands in there and thread both pieces of hemp for each key through a hole and tie a good, tight knot. Also do that for the bell. (I did this part, Matt was not going to be fitting his hands in there)<br />
<br />
After you have all your hemp threaded and knotted, you want to do the epoxy on the lid of the teapot to hold it down when you hang it. So you need to squeeze the epoxy on a piece of cardboard, or something else that is equally thick, and mix the two sides together really well with the little Popsicle stick they give you. Then use the stick to apply the epoxy all over the underneath of the lid. Close the lid and wipe any extra epoxy that leaks out with a paper towel. Keep the lid closed tightly somehow while the epoxy dries. Matt just held ours down. After that is good and dry, we decided to stuff a paper towel in the spout of the teapot and seal it off with epoxy at the top so no bees could get in there and make a home;) That step is optional but strongly recommended.<br />
<b style="color: #e06666;">*Make sure you seal the lid AFTER you thread and tie your keys!*</b><br />
<br />
Cut a piece of hemp long enough to fold in half and loop through the top of the teapot. Fold it, loop it, tie it off at the top really well and hang it up!<br />
<br />
I love ours, it's our on our front porch:D<br />
<br />
Again, this was a great project to do with Matt. I love projects that we do together! And we will always have this special, unique teapot wind chime on our front porch.<br />

At all. Ever. But I do try:) Here's some stuff I have recently created with my trusty sewing machine:<br />
